Every year the kids and I create a gingerbread house – it is tradition. We missed this tradition for a few years when we first moved to Mexico because I was positive ants would eat it! The kids persisted and I relented. It turns out that Mexican ants must not like molasses and gingerbread because it has never been a problem.
This year our gingerbread house turned into a castle. This was our first try at a two tiered gingerbread creation.
Interestingly, this year’s rock hard gingerbread turned soft within a few days. The castle stood up but the reindeer fell asleep.
Nothing mattered though as my son’s only goal once it was built was to eat it.
